Announcements:
On Wednesday December 9 we covered Section 16.4. You are responsible for all exercises through Section 16.4, excluding Section 16.3.
Course Evaluations. Please be sure to fill out a course evaluation online. You should have received an email telling you how to do this. I do pay attention and take very seriously your comments. Evaluations will be open until Monday Dec. 14.
Final Exam Review Session. There will be a review session for the Final Exam on Friday December 11, 9:00-10:15 in ST1, room 129 (the same room where we have class).
Final Exam. The Final Exam will be given in Room 129, ST1, on Monday December 14, 7:30am-10:15am. The exam is cumulative. You are permitted to bring one sheet of 8.5"x11" paper or 5 3x5 notecards. NO calculators are permitted for this exam.
The Final Exam will be cumulative but will deemphasize the material from Chapter 15 (since you have just been tested on that). There will be a couple of problems from Chapter 15 on the final but not many. There will definitely be some problems from Sections 16.1, 16.2 and 16.4. No other section from Chapter 16 will appear on the exam. The following sections will definitely not be covered on the final: 12.6, 13.3, 14.1, 14.2, 14.4, 15.2, 15.3. The only sections that will appear on the final exam are sections that we have covered in class, and in which you have been assigned exercises.
My suggestion is that you concentrate your studying on Chapters 13 and 14. Chapter 12 will appear on the exam but contains material you have used so much in the semester that it is probably very familiar to you. I suggest you review that chapter briefly. Also you have just been tested on Chapter 15 so you probably know it pretty well. I suggest you review that chapter briefly also.
Exam 4. Exam 4 will be given on Wednesday December 2 (not December 3 as it says in the syllabus). The exam will cover Sections 15.2, 15.3, 15.4, and 15.7. You are permitted to bring one 3x5 card with notes (both sides). NO calculators are permitted for this exam.
Exam 3. Exam 3 will be given on Wednesday November 11. The exam will cover Sections 14.3-14.7, and 15.1. You are permitted to bring one 3x5 card with notes (both sides). NO calculators are permitted for this exam.
Columbus Day Holiday. Class does not meet on Monday October 12, but will meet on Tuesday October 13, 9:00-10:15 as usual. We will take some time on Tuesday to review for the exam on Wednesday.
Exam 2. Exam 2 will be given on Wednesday October 14. The exam will cover Sections 13.1-13.3, 14.1 and 14.2. You are permitted to bring one 3x5 card with notes (both sides). NO calculators are permitted for this exam.
Exam 1. Exam 1 will be given on Wednesday September 23. The exam will cover Sections 12.1 through 12.6. You are permitted to bring one 3x5 card with notes (both sides). NO calculators are permitted for this exam.
Waiting List. This information is for anyone who was on the waiting list for Math 213 and who did not subsequently register for the class. The waiting list has been cleared, that is, everyone has been dropped from the waiting list. If you still want to register for the course you must do it as spaces appear. So check patriotweb frequently to see if any spaces have opened up in the class. If you are trying to get in and still cannot do it by the end of the week, let me know.
Deadlines. Please be aware of all relevant deadlines. Details may be found here.
