DC - Maryland - Virginia Section Annual Meeting 2026

The purpose of this section is to enhance the communication among the section members, promote collaboration for both basic research and applications of mathematics to industry and science, represent applied and computational mathematics in the Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware regions, and support the SIAM mission in this region of the U.S.
Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) is an international organization that fosters the development of applied mathematics and computational methodologies needed in various application areas through publications, conferences, and communities like student chapters, geographic sections, and activity groups.

Talk titles and abstracts will be added as they become available.

Poster Session

Poster submissions are encouraged, especially from graduate students, postdocs, and early-career researchers.

We invite posters from all areas of applied mathematics, computational science, data science, scientific machine learning, mathematical biology, optimization, numerical analysis, and related fields. The poster blitz will provide brief introductions, followed by a dedicated poster session for informal discussion.

Funding-Agency Panel

The panel will provide an opportunity for students, postdocs, and faculty to hear about current funding priorities, proposal mechanisms, and how to engage with program officers.
