Here is the syllabus that I handed out in the first lecture.

On Thursday I went through the homework questions for Section 8.3 and covered most of Section 8.5. The 2nd test (October 7th) will cover all the material we covered from Chapter 7 and Chapter 8 upto and including Section 8.3. The rules for the second test will be the same as the first except that you will be given a copy of Table 8.1 from the textbook. As usual I will not be having office hours on the day of the test.
