GEORGE MASON UNIVERSITY
DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES
APPLIED AND COMPUTATIONAL MATHEMATICS SEMINAR

Speaker: Konstantina Trivisa, Mathematics, University of Maryland
Title: On the Mathematical Analysis of Fluid Mixtures

Abstract: Multicomponent reactive flows arise in many physical applications in sciences and engineering. The objective of this work is to develop a rigorous mathematical theory based on the principles of continuum mechanics. In this talk results on global existence and asymptotic analysis of multicomponent reactive flows will be presented.

Time: Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
