Details
The two plots are traces of the variables in a set of 6 differential
equations, consisting of the Lorenz equations coupled to a
three-dimensional Fitzhugh-Nagumo-style excitable media model (FHN3). The top
shows the x versus z variables of Lorenz, the lower trace is the v (voltage)
variable of FHN3. Parameters: the "coupling strength" parameter is the
coupling constant which is multiplied times the Lorenz input into
FHN3, the "Lorenz speed" controls the speed at which Lorenz is
integrated, and therefore controls the relative time constants of
Lorenz/FHN3.
