Current Announcements:
- Course announcements, answer keys and
assignments will all be posted on Blackboard. Please see me if you have
any trouble accessing that information.
- How to graph piecewise-defined functions
on a TI-83: there are instructions on page 100 in the text (example
4), using the ≥ , ≤, etc., symbols in the calculator catalog (they
may be other places as well, but I haven't found them yet).
The piecewise defined function: f(x)
= { x² if x≥ 0; x-1 if x<0}
would be entered as: (x≥0)*(x^2)+(x<0)*(x-1). I was also
successful entering it per the instructions in a different textbook as:
(x^2)(x≥0)+(x-1)(x<0). The calculator seems remarkably flexible on this.
