QUANTUM DOTS: TECHNOLOGY AND APPLICATIONS

Technological advances open an opportunity to control the size, shape and composition of solid state structures. Over the years, reduction in size has resulted in the miniaturization of optical and electronic devices. At the nanometer size scale, electronic and optical properties exhibit quantum nature. The tiny structures at these dimensions, which were named quantum dots, offer new possibilities in a variety of applications.
