MATH 110-002 - Finite Mathematics - Fall 2009

Announcements:

In class on Wednesday November 18, we finished Section 7.3 and began to discuss Section 7.4.  You are responsible for homework assigned through Section 7.3.

Quiz 12.  Quiz 12 will be given at the end of class on Friday, November 20.  The quiz will take about 15 minutes and cover Sections 7.2 (on random variables) and 7.3.  The quiz questions will be similar to homework questions and in-class examples.

Scoring of Exam 2. Confirming what I announced in class, Exam 2 will be counted out of a total of 72 points.  If you scored more than 72 points on the exam then your grade will be recorded as a number greater than 100.  For example if you scored 74 on the exam the score entered into the grade book will be 74/72 = 103%.

Exam 2.  Exam 2 will be given on Wednesday November 4 and will cover all of Chapter 6.  Exam questions will be similar to homework problems, quiz problems, and in-class examples.  Calculators are permitted for this exam.  The exam will take the full class period.

Exam 1.  Exam 1 will be given on Wednesday September 30 and will cover all of Chapter 5.  Exam questions will be similar to homework problems, quiz problems, and in-class examples.  Calculators are permitted for this exam.  The exam will take the full class period.

Uncollected Quizzes.  Quizzes taken on a Friday will be returned at the beginning of class the following Monday.  If you do not pick up your quiz at that time, it will be placed in an envelope outside my office door (room 261, Science and Technology I).
