Updates: (March 28) Tomorrow's quiz will have a question on the chain rule and a question on directional derivatives.

(March 24) I've posted yesterday's lecture notes completing 12.5 on the chain rule and 12.6 on directional derivatives and the gradient.  I've also posted my solution for extra practice 12.6, and just to give you a heads up as to what we will try to cover next Tuesday, I've posted some extra practices for 12.7 and 12.8.  Try reading ahead so that you can give them a try.  I'm doing things a bit differently from the text with 12.8, so I suggest you make a point of attending class in order to understand my point of view.

Practice Problems    (reposted 3/20/2017 to modify the problems in section 12.8)  These are problems from the text which you should work on in preparation for the lectures, quizzes and tests.

Extra Practice Problems    These are variations of the above practice problems for which I also post detailed solutions.

Class Notes  These are scans of the class lecture notes.

Quizzes and Tests   Here you will find copies of  the quizzes given in the recitation and tests given in class.

Syllabus  The syllabus for the course can be found here. It lists test grading policies and other information about the course.
