Information on the Actuarial Concentrations

George Mason University is the only school in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area and state of Virginia that offers an Actuarial Program. By emphasizing the mathematical topics of interest to Actuaries, these programs prepare students for careers in industries that use business modeling skills such as insurance companies, financial institutions, pension funds, governmental agencies, and consulting firms. Established in 1995, the undergraduate program is based at the Fairfax campus of George Mason University. However, some advanced B.S. requirements are to be taken at the Arlington campus. Students who complete this program will receive a B.S. in Mathematics with an Actuarial Concentration.
