COLLOQUIUM JANUARY 29, 2010

Speaker: Victor Reiner, University of Minnesota

Title: Algebraic combinatorics -- using algebra to help one count

Abstract:  This talk will try to illustrate by example, how occasionally a small amount of algebra (e.g. linear and multilinear algebra) helps one understand questions arising in enumeration. No previous background in combinatorics will be assumed.

Time: Friday, January 29, 2010, 3:30-4:20 p.m.

Place: Science and Technology Building I, Room 242

Refreshments will be served before the talk at 3:00 p.m. in Room 222.
