The Technical Director for the Office of Operations Research, Modeling and Simulation, M&S Oversight Division at the National Security Agency wants us to know about their summer program. Each summer, NSA offers a unique and rewarding opportunity for 4 to 6 graduate students to participate in a paid internship called the Summer Program for Operations Research Technology (SPORT). Selected students have the opportunity to apply the skills they've learned in the classroom to important real-world problems at NSA. NSA is in the midst of their recruiting season for next summer's SPORT class and is planning recruiting trips to colleges and universities that have an active and respected Operations Research and/or Industrial Engineering graduate program. Statistics and applied mathematics students are also eligible. Since George Mason University certainly qualifies as such, NSA is interested in visiting our University to discuss this exciting internship opportunity with some of our graduate students (Masters or PhD level). An interesting aspect of this opportunity is that NSA will arrange for the selected students to get a Top Secret security clearance. As we all know, having a clearance is helpful in getting employment after graduation. I will serve as the university point of contact for this opportunity.
Interested students please contact and we will set up a meeting with the NSA personnel.
