Title: Discrete Geometric Gradient Flows
We recall basic elements of shape differential calculus and use them
to formulate geometric gradient flows. We examine five examples: mean
curvature flow, surface diffusion, optimal shape design, biomembranes,
and director fields on flexible surfaces. We illustrate each case with insightful simulations.
