APPLIED AND COMPUTATIONAL MATHEMATICS SEMINAR

**Speaker:** Konstantina Trivisa, Mathematics, University of Maryland

**Title: ***
On the Mathematical Analysis of Fluid Mixtures
*

**Abstract:**
Multicomponent reactive flows arise in many physical applications
in sciences and engineering. The objective of this work is to develop a rigorous
mathematical theory based on the principles of continuum mechanics.
In this talk results on global existence and asymptotic analysis of multicomponent reactive flows will be presented.

**Time:** Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, 1:30-2:30 p.m.

**Place:** Science and Tech I, Room 242
